I'm doing some groundwork on this issue at the moment.  Right now, I've all 
Schwann labels and the span of years they were listed, now complete through 
1970.  It's coordinated with Billboard Directory listings as well.  I do a 
little segment with breakfast each morning and, right now, between football 
plays

I also have put together a file of 20,000+  LPs arranged by label name, 
sequence of labels, number and date.  This is to establish first editions, 
variants, etc.  There are thousands of records awaiting checking against 
this collection.  This project also grows daily, depending on time 
available.

I have file drawers full of catalogs and most of the record review 
magazines.  I live in Frederick, MD and could use some local help, 
particularly if someone can photograph and assemble label picture sequences.

Changes in distribution, ownership and corporate evolution make the job 
pretty complex.  No early completion is anticipated.
