We're well on our way to a real standard in mp4als.

I'm using WavPack because it supports floating point files and retains metadata including BWF headers. It runs in command-line which I'm told is relatively future-proof. My tests showed absolutely perfect file restoration. Hopefully the mp4als folks understand the need for BWF header support.
