Re: [ARSCLIST] Beginner's question RE: digital recordings

David,

Such an apprenticeship would be ideal. I should ask around about who is in the Chicago area.

The bits & pieces of gear are only a small part of a project like yours. The main part is learning how to use them to achieve the desired effect. Short of spending a *very* great deal of time to learn all that you need to know, an apprenticeship to one of our listmembers who specialises in this sort of work would be an excellent investment.

Salutations, David L

Hello, Lisa,

What digital audio software do you already have in your lab? Many of the packages will do what you ask. I use Samplitude and it will do a lot of what you ask, and you can add Sound Laundry plug-ins from Algorithmix. I believe Adobe Audition will also do what you need.

Is this your project?

The remaining players may need service as well. I have no idea who can service them.

Cheers,

Richard
