This is probably not public domain. But I came across some excellent music footage on the Courtesans of Bombay, a Merchant Ivory film. On the same DVD is an excellent documentary The Street Musicans of Bombay. This could easily be used in short segments. Wonderful examples of traditional music. I forget the name of the filmmaker for this portion. I checked this out from my local library.
