Hi David,

Any way possible to know what brand machine they were recorded on?  Perhaps
uyou already know this, but there is an incompatibility between different
brands of DAT machines, so it's necessary to have the option of playback on
a Sony, a Tascam or Panasonic.  The Tascam or Panasonic-recorded DATs seem
to play fine on either Tascam or Panasonic machines, while DATs recorded on
Sony machines track better in Sonys.  I'd say try a different machine first
before assuming it's the DAT itself.
