We can estimate there are multi-millions of analog sound/video recordings
in existence...many of which are unavailable anywhere else. Many of the
old analog players are relatively simple and thus fairly easy to repair
or maintain (magnetic tape may be the exception here?). Further, there
are billions of paper documents, which are spiritually (as well as
technically) analog! It is highly unlikely (Haile Sellassie's little
known second cousin?) that people will give up their photograph albums,
their books, the drawings their offspring made at the age of two...OR
their LP albums, cassettes and (in my case, anyway) their shellac 78's!

Oh...how do I digitize Ecru the cat?!
