Re: [ARSCLIST] 1/4" audio tape digitizing

Good list of duplicators, Goran, but David, I don't think you want any of the duplicating gear - you want playback gear, and not to go that high speed I think. Double or 4x doing both sides (if it has that kind) will save plenty of time. Duplicating gear means to go to the copies at that high speed, and your A/D would need to be deisgned for high frequency response and I don't think you can do digitizing at more than 4x without results suffering a lot - even for voice.

Anyone here done any real world experiments?

This is a dying industry.

What is your requirement capacity wise and what budget do you have?

Telex, http://www.telex.com/duplication, has been on the low end of
cassette duplication for many years but has announced the
discontinuation of all duplicating equipment.

Gauss has long been considered as the Rolls Royce of the duplicators.

Lyrec of Denmark is in a middle position as regards the cost of the
equipment.

There are many more such as:

Electrosound, Ampex, Tapematic http://www.tapematic.it/, that may or may
not be operational.
