All countries are moving toward uniform copyright terms. I wouldn't hold my breath for anybody to accept a reduction in length as part of this process. I also wouldn't be surprised to see countries that refuse to go along with it subject to trade sanctions.

In fact the cost of being a disk jockey may well increase due to trade sanctions because recording artists are entitled to substantial performance royalties in many countries.
