We have two CDs already recorded. One devoted to the music of Cole Porter.
Frank Milne is featured as well. Also on the Cole Porter disc will be one
roll recorded by Ferde Grofe!
The other disc is devoted to dance tunes from the 30s.
When we first discussed the possibility of doing this I was
skeptical...until I heard some of the rolls. Some of the arrangements are
amazing in their harmonic invention.
As part of working on these, we found a quote about
Rachmaninoff...according to the story, when he was at the Ampico studios
to record, he enjoyed sitting in on the pops recording sessions!
We plan to have the discs ready for release this summer.
