good for you. i heartily defend your right to have and express your opinion.

actually, i read that the word used was "competent".

however, misstating actual wording, or slightly re-wording something is a hallmark of the tired and old pseudo-conservative prejudice, which i'm sure you would not be guilty of. this is also commonly known as obfuscation. when coupled with focus group research, you have what is called a karl rove card.

the opposite of competent, incompetent, does not mean nor imply stupid, or ignorant.

indeed, bush is competent in many ways. he has helped create vast oil profits in merely a few weeks, handily making up for the oil companies losses years ago (he was heading up those companies, but thankfully was bailed out by family and friends). that's the american way. try, try, again.

he also has successfully convinced many americans that releasing oil reserves actually does anything to the market prices. quite an effective psychological boost! plus, he has successfully given voice to those who believe the vietnam war was not "lost", but "withdrawn from".

soon: the reversal of the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878?

here here!

oh, also, i defend the right to be ignorant, as well, which i am, and am sure someone will point that out momentarily.

cheers!
