Re: [ARSCLIST] Restoration Software--root algorithms

One thing I think will aid this discussion is listing the root source of the algorithms. For example, there was a paper presented at ARSC in Austin detailing noise reduction results and they indicated that more than one program used Algorithmix algorithms.

So, it would be useful if this were somehow tabulated. I don't have the
time to research it right now and I'm not sure all manufacturers will be
completely candid, either.

It seems that several companies are using the Algorithmix algorithms. Of
course, implementations might vary. For example, I prefer the algorithmix
noise reducer plugin (v.2.5.1) for many things, but for gentle de-hissing,
the version built into Samplitude sometimes sounds cleaner.

I wonder what the relationship is (other than a common marketing arm)
between Diamond Cut and DARTPro. The user interface is quite different, but
are these basically the same algorithms?

Cheers,

Richard
