You need to define “best” - and cost. In my own research, the CubeTec Audiocube is very powerful. It's basically a special 64-bit version of Wavelab that uses DSP cards added to the PC for additional processing speed. There are some excellent restoration plug-ins available from CubeTec. The whole thing is built on a specially configured Dell. You're looking at about 15-20k dollars for a CubeTec. It competes with the CEDAR Cambridge system.

In your opinion, what software program (not outboard modules) does the best
all-around job for restoring vintage recordings? I know that some of you
use one package for one process and a different program for another, but
