Re: [ARSCLIST] .wav file content information

I've passed on the interest in such an editor to a number of programmers
I know that already work with .wav files and writing tools to alter or
process them. Within 15 minutes I got several replies indication that
they would be interested in undertaking writing some simple PC software
tools for working with the metadata information for archiving uses,
either as freeware or shareware.

It would help if list members could forward to me on or off list any
available information on BWF standards/data/ related information, as
well as the most desired features. I'll pass this on to the interested
programmers. For features, K.I.S.S. , these folks are talking about a
freebee basically for us. Anyway any information / links would be
helpful.....

I have no idea what might come of this, but nothing ventured....

I can pass this one on to a programmer I know as well to see if he would
be interested. He's PC only, but that might be a good thing in this
case.

Well, hey, thanks guys. But be careful. I can usually tell when
someone is of a certain age when I refer to her in association with my
company name. I get blank looks from 20-somethings.

I, along with Dave, would really like to know what else is available for
editing bwf metadata info. This issue has been raised in a pro audio
circle recently as well. I have a good friend who wrote a wave header
editor for changing erroneous or corrupted resolution info which is
useful when, say an ADAT or DA-88 tape has been formated for 48K and the
operator sets the machine at 44.1 instead. Anyway, I will shoot him an
email about writing a bwf editor. He might do it if there is enough
interest.
