[ARSCLIST] Media Coordinator Position



Title:          Media Coordinator

Department:             Video Production

Reports to:             Production Manager

Level of Position:      Mid-Level

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
        	
Perform production processes including, but not limited to, coordinating intake of client materials, coordinating cataloging, data entry, sorting media for transfer and compiling, coordinating, quality controlling, and shipping output.  


BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

-       Background in Library Science 

-       Some management experience preferred

-       Background in Conservation is a plus

-       Video, Audio and/or film background is a plus

-       Strong computer skills

-       Strong troubleshooting skills

-       Thorough documentation skills

-       Strong communication skills

-       Excellent organizational and data management skills

-       Ability to deliver on the execution of a project as part of a team


THINGS YOU WILL LEARN ON THE JOB

Knowledge of media and media format history, preservation practices and techniques employed with archival and library materials.

Identification of various forms of media deterioration and associated physical restoration methods.

Ability to specify proper preservation priorities for item-level and collection based media; describe A/V materials to clients and prescribe solutions.

Knowledge of reproduction and recording procedures and linear and non-linear editing techniques.
