Re: [ARSCLIST] Quantegy has closed ???

Does this mean there is a market for recorded 2-inch tape on reels? Or
other reel tape formats? I live in Los Angeles, and I find these often
enough in my searches through the underworld.

Emtec went last year. Maxell discontinued all 1/4" tapes last year too.
Zonal went three years ago. The remains of Capitol Audiotape (owned by
Fidelipac) went about six years ago.

2" is gone, and the only two suppliers of 1/4" now are JAI in India (red
oxide types only) and Hanny Magnetics in Korea (which OEMs Supertape and
Concertape for Radio Shack).
