I believe there is a de-esser setting in the dynamic processor of Cool Edit
Pro.  There may be a preset.  If not, try frequencies in the 6 to 8K area.

Using a de-esser is the easy answer.  A de-esser is simply a compressor that
only compresses a specific frequency band(s).  What software/hardware are
you using to digitize?

The above assumes your stylus is fresh and the turntable has been set-up
correctly. And that the recording was not originally supposed to be
sibilant.

Dear Members

I am currently working on the digitization of "The Lotte Lenya Album".  Some
sibilance can be heard when playing the LP's.  Could anybody please give me
some tips on how to remove the sibilance?
