I do not believe that not-for-profit designation was the issue. The orchestra's name was "NBC Symphony Orchestra".

There is a building not far from my home where basketball games are played
- the Lakers are currently enjoying some substantial success there.
Originally named "The Forum" or "The Inglewood Forum", a few years ago the
name was changed to "Staples Center". A new theater/conference complex has
been built in Hollywood with "Kodak" in its name. One cannot report about
those venues without naming the companies because the respective company's
name is part of the name of the building. It's a device for which the
corporations pay 'big bucks'.
