According to http://www.baseball-almanac.com/poetry/po_stmo.shtml Take Me
Out To The Ball Game was published in 1908, so "However, it does note
that he left the US for London in early 1911, and didn't return until
1917...so he wasn't around to record the song when it was first released,
and was no longer recording when it later became a standard" isn't a logical
explantion: it was an immediate hit.   And, he was waxing sides for English
Columbia from '14 - '16, so he could have done it then.
