[ARSCLIST] AMERICAN MINSTREL RECORDS

For some years while collecting American minstrel records I have been frustrated
by not having available a list of what was out there -- not knowing exactly what
records there were in the various Columbia series, for example -- the Imperial
Minstrels, Peerless Minstrels, Rambler Minstrels, Rambler Minstrel Company,
plain Minstrel Series, etc. -- not to mention the various Victor series and
those on Berliner, Edison, Everlasting, Indestructible, Little Wonder, North
American, Zon-o-phone, and miscellaneous others.

Recently with help from experts in the field, including Tim Brooks, Don
Chichester, Allen Debus, Patrick Feaster, and Rainer Lotz, I have printed up a
somewhat complete list of pre-1930 minstrel show records and the songs included
on them, when known. (I would point out, however, that this is not a
discography - there has been no attempt to undertake the larger task of
identifying matrix numbers and precise recording dates and locations.)

The 28-page booklet is available to any person or institution interested in the
subject for the payment of $3.00, sent to me at the address below.
