[ARSCLIST] Audio Workshop

Association for Recorded Sound Collections Presents:
A Pre-Conference Audio Workshop

The Association for Recorded Sound Collections (ARSC) is offering a
one-day audio workshop in conjunction with the ARSC Annual Conference at
the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia (May 28-31, 2003).

The workshop will be on Wednesday, May 28, 2003, 9:00 A.M.-4:30 P.M. at
the University Suite (lower level), Sheraton University City Hotel, 36th
and Chestnut Sts., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Presentations will be:

Audio Preservation: Technical Issues Facing the Institutional Archivist
with
Gary Galo, audio engineer at the Crane School of Music, SUNY at
Potsdam, N.Y.
Joseph Patrych, recording producer and owner of Patrych Sound Studios,
New York City
Dennis D. Rooney, audio producer and consultant
Seth B. Winner, preservation engineer at the Rodgers and Hammerstein
Archives of Recorded Sound, N.Y. Public Library

Desiging and Managing an Audio Preservation Program with David Seubert,
curator of the Performing Arts Collection at the Univ. of California,
Santa Barbara, Davidson Library

The Sound Recordings Permissions Process (with an emphasis on the
digital environment) with Linda Tadic, director of operations, ArtSTOR

Workshop registration fees: before April 25th: $60 for ARSC members,
$75 for non-ARSC members; after April 25th:  $70 for ARSC members, $85
for non-ARSC members

SPECIAL OFFER: Join ARSC for $33 (dues are regularly $36 but new
members pay $33 for the first year) and register for the workshop at
ARSC member prices: $60 (before Apr. 25) and $70 (after Apr. 25)
