Thanks for the link and the great pics of the cylinders and grooves.  I've always wanted to see a detailed shot of the early square bottomed groove and an example of one of the cylinders.

We have added a new page to the Edison National Historic Site website.  The page describes details of the Edison recordings selected for the National Recording Registry.  Included on the page are several photographs and links to mp3 audio files.
