The noun, "album" means different things to different generations.  To mine
(older) it indicates a binder with a number of records in it.

To later folks, it's an LP.  From your timings, I'm assuming this latter.

You also seem to be asking about restoring the physical objects as well as
copying and cleaning up the audio data they contain.

Many of us on this list (myself included) do sound restoration.  As to the
objects themselves, unless they are unique, it's less expensive to overpay
for a perfect copy than send it to a restorer.  If these are LPs of
University songs, etc., keep checking eBay.
