RE: arsclist cellophane plastic

I have a still-sealed set of Gieseking's Mozart piano works, released in
1954 December. The outer box is unsealed, but inside are shrinkwraps
around four, four, and three discs, resp. The discs are unwarped. I
wonder what premium this unopened set would bring. I bought it from list
member Steve Smolian at his half-price close-out sale in his store Choice
Recordings in Silver Spring, MD, for $25 in 1985. More valuably, perhaps,
he let the 1951 Casals Festival at Perpignan 13-LP box, Columbia SL-170 go
for $62.50. But that was unsealed.

Question for list members: when did sealing discs begin?
