Please do not piggyback your post on an unrelated one. At the least change 
the Subject line. Also, please try not to post HTML to the list.

33 1/3 rpm was used for transcriptions and special products quite early; 
general commercial distribution dates from 1948. The question would 
probably better be posed on 78-l where experts can provide more detail than 
you are likely to be seeking.
