Decontamination is a very tricky business -
particularly with mold which is classified as a lung irritant. If you did not
take any precautions before you played the tapes you will now have the high
concentrations of mold all over the place - particularly if you used ff or
rewind. Depending on the machine it could really be distributed inside the
transport. Depending on how bad it is I would recommend different procedures.
Unless these are very valuable machines, it may be better to start with new
machines and toss the old. If these are studers or something very valuable, you
will have to put them in a different environment, use vacuum systems (high
power) to try to remove the mold, alcohol, respirators and gloves for the people
doing the work.;....... it is a project....
