Intrepation of data surveyed from early CDs & CDrs should be weighted by any
changes in manufacturing (materials and techniques) that have occurred since
they were introduced.  And, as with media debacles such as newer Ampex 456
tape being less reliable than some of their other types that preceded it, it
should not be assumed that newer CDs & CDrs are any better, or even as good
as their predecessors.  Better probabilities of survival are likely if the
same data's stored on different media, probably even different domains (i.e.
digital audio on a CDr or CD + analog audio on tape).
