IASA Contact Info
To the list:
If Kwame has already introduced himself, please excuse this (I've been out
of town and haven't caught up on my email backlog). If not, I will
introduce him by saying that he is setting up what will become
the national sound archive of Ghana, starting with a large collection of
published 78s, LPs, cassettes, and CDs of Highlife music. So far
this collection is all manually cataloged. What he most needs our help
with is recommendations for a simple database system he might use for
creating an automated catalog.
To Kwame:
While you were here at the Archive of Folk Culture getting some technical
assistance from us on setting up your archive of Highlife records, I told
you about ARSC, but neglected to tell you about another organization that
might be useful to you. Here is the contact information:
International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives (IASA)
website: http://www.llgc.org.uk/iasa/
Information Bulletin Editor: Chris Clark
British Library National Sound Archive

UNITED KINGDOM

Hope this helps,
Jennifer
