AUTHOR INFORMATION

KIRSTY NORMAN was born in Hong Kong and brought up in Hong Kong, Australia, and England. She trained as an archaeological conservator at the British Museum in London, went to Turkey to work as conservator to the British School of Archaeology at Ankara, and then became a free-lance archaeological conservator. For the last 11 years she has worked as conservator to Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah (the Sabah Collection of Islamic Art) in Kuwait, and on excavations and consultancy projects in Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, Cyprus, and Hong Kong.
