LOERNA PALMER SIMPSON is assistant professor of textiles in the Department of Apparel, Interiors, Housing, and Merchandising, Oregon State University. She received her Ph.D. from Texas Woman's University and her master's degree from Kansas State University. She is active in several professional organizations, including AIC, American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), and American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC).
