CONSERVATION OF A MONUMENTAL OUTDOOR BRONZE SCULPTURE: THEODORE ROOSEVELT BY PAUL MANSHIP

Lynda A. Zycherman, & Nicolas F. Veloz

5 FUTURE UPKEEP

SHOULD NO NEW CONSERVATION problems develop, the National Park Service plans to wash and wax the surface of the sculpture annually or bi-annually, and quinquennially to strip the wax completely, reapply a corrosion inhibitor and rewax.

Assuming that the environmental conditions remain substantially unchanged, we believe that this regular maintenance will keep the Theodore Roosevelt in fine shape for the foreseeable future.
