Every person involved in restoration, conservation or preservation of art and cultural assets may become member of the association. The board decides on admission, the application for which has to be presented in writing. Membership does not stand for professional qualification. Membership in the IADA must not be advertised. Extraordinary members may be corporations and working groups interested in the exchange of experience with the IADA. They do not have a right to vote. Persons who have rendered outstanding services to the IADA or its aims may be appointed honorary members.

All members receive the publication 'Journal of PaperConservation - IADA Reports | Mitteilungen der IADA' four times a year. The journal contains publications about latest developments in the field of paper conservation as well as the work of IADA. Furthermore, members will enjoy reduced fees for IADA events such as conferences and workshops.
