Life is the young woman with her hair pulled up in a bun. She is holding the thread being used for the cloth.

Time is the elder woman fully clothed. She is standing in the rear to guide both people in the creation of the cloth.

The man of noble mind is the seated person in front of the loom who is weaving the fabric.
