Missouri

Do you know how Missouri received its name? It is named after the Algonquin Indian Tribe. In English it means "town of the large canoes." Why do you think the state was given this name? If you look at your map, you will find the Missouri River and the Mississippi River are two of many rivers that run through or along the borders of the state.

The Show-Me State is home to 549 sculptures, 276 of which are in need of conservation.
