South Carolina
Although South Carolina is primarily known in history as the first state to secede from the Union at the start of the Civil War, the state also played a major role in the Revolutionary War. Due to the success in agriculture, the colony was one of the wealthiest regions in the New World. Consequently, more revolutionary battles were fought in South Carolina than any other state.
Volunteers from 40 cities from Abbeville to York discovered that over 140 of their 245 sculptures need preservation.
